How do I start a project with NexisLab?+
Simply fill in our contact form or email hello@nexislab.com. We'll reply within 24 hours to schedule a free 30-minute discovery call where we scope the project, discuss your goals, and outline a proposal. No commitment required at that stage.
What happens after I sign up for a retainer?+
Within 48 hours of contract signing you'll receive a welcome pack, be added to our project management tool, and be introduced to your dedicated account manager. Week one always begins with a deep-dive strategy session to set priorities, establish communication norms, and kick off your first deliverables.
Do you work with startups or only established businesses?+
We work with both. About 40% of our clients are early-stage startups — we love helping founders build their digital foundation from scratch. Our Starter plan and one-time packages are designed specifically with budget-conscious startups in mind.
Can I see examples of your work before committing?+
Absolutely. Our portfolio page showcases a curated selection of case studies with real results data. We can also share additional samples relevant to your specific industry or service type during the discovery call.
Do you require a long-term commitment?+
Retainer plans have a minimum 3-month term to ensure we can deliver meaningful results (digital work takes time to show impact). After that, you're month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. One-time project packages have no ongoing commitment whatsoever.
📋 Projects & Deliverables
How long does a typical project take?+
It depends on scope. A landing page takes 5–7 days. A full website: 4–8 weeks. A mobile app MVP: 10–14 weeks. A brand identity: 2–4 weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline in your proposal, and we stick to it — on-time delivery is a core commitment.
How many revisions are included?+
All packages include at least 2 rounds of revisions per deliverable. Professional and above retainers include unlimited revisions within the monthly scope. We believe in getting it right, not limiting your feedback. Revisions outside the scope of the original brief are quoted separately.
Who owns the work after it's delivered?+
You do — 100%. Upon final payment, all intellectual property rights for the work we create specifically for you transfers to you in full. We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio unless you request otherwise in writing. See our IP Policy for full details.
How do you communicate during a project?+
We use a combination of shared project management tools (Notion or Linear), Slack for day-to-day communication, and scheduled weekly video calls for updates. You'll always know where things stand — we send progress updates every Friday and flag any blockers immediately.
What if I need to pause or stop a project mid-way?+
Life happens. You can pause a project for up to 60 days without losing your slot. For project cancellations, see our Billing & Cancellation Policy — you'll receive all completed work to date and any unused prepaid fees are refunded on a pro-rata basis.
💳 Billing & Pricing
What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), bank transfers (ACH/SWIFT), and PayPal. For annual contracts we also accept wire transfers. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
When are invoices sent?+
Monthly retainer invoices are sent on the 1st of each month, due within 7 days. One-time project packages require a 50% deposit upfront, with the remainder due upon final delivery. Annual plans are invoiced upfront with a 20% discount applied automatically.
Can I get a refund?+
Yes, subject to the terms in our Refund & Returns Policy. For retainers, unused service credits in the current month are refundable. For fixed-price projects, partial refunds are available at specific milestones. We handle refund requests promptly and fairly — no runaround.
Are there any hidden fees?+
No. We're radically transparent about costs. Your monthly retainer or project quote covers everything in the defined scope. Third-party costs (hosting, domain, paid tools, stock images) are itemised separately and require your explicit approval before we incur them.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?+
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Contact your account manager or email billing@nexislab.com to make changes.
⚙️ Technical Questions
What technologies do you build with?+
For web: Next.js, React, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Supabase, and AWS/Vercel. For mobile: React Native and Flutter. For AI: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and custom fine-tuning. For design: Figma. We're stack-agnostic and can work with your existing codebase too.
Do you provide website hosting?+
We don't host websites ourselves, but we set up and configure hosting for you on Vercel, AWS, or Netlify as part of the project. Hosting costs are paid directly by you to the provider — typically $20–$200/month depending on traffic. We manage everything technical on your behalf.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?+
Every single thing we build is mobile-first by default. We design and develop for mobile screens first, then scale up to desktop. All sites are fully responsive, tested across iOS and Android browsers, and we target a Lighthouse mobile score of 90+.
What happens if something breaks after launch?+
All projects include a 30-day post-launch bug fix warranty at no extra charge. For retainer clients, bugs are addressed based on your SLA tier (see our SLA). Critical issues (site down) are treated as P0 regardless of plan and addressed within 4 hours.
👤 Account & Access
Can I add team members to my account?+
Yes. Professional plans and above allow up to 5 team member logins in the client portal. Enterprise and Scale plans have unlimited seats. You control access levels — stakeholders, reviewers, or approvers — so the right people see the right things.
How do I cancel my account?+
Email your account manager or billing@nexislab.com with 30 days' notice. We'll confirm cancellation, complete any in-progress work, and deliver all files to you. See the Cancellation Policy for full details on how we handle final billing.
Is my data safe with NexisLab?+
Yes. We follow SOC 2-aligned security practices, encrypt data at rest and in transit, and never sell or share client data with third parties. See our Security & Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy for full details.
